More than $1000 raised in minerals auctions!

Students, faculty of DES and members of the broader geological community have been avidly bidding on rocks and minerals in the past months.

Undergraduate student Paul Wawrzonkowski, the organizer of the Silent Mineral Auctions, along with collaboration of Laurentian Earth Science Club, is dedicating the $1012.25 raised to two new wireless projectors in the Microscopy Lab and the Paleontology Lab.

Along with the microscope cameras sponsored by the Goodman School of Mines this will allow instructors to project the live feed from the microscope camera onto the large projection screen.

Paul Wawrzonkowski organized 5 Silent Mineral Auctions with the help of different donors. The donors include: Sudbury Rock & Lapidary Society, Noveira Minerals, Roger Poulin, Raymond Bernatchez, Dan Kontak, Andy McDonald, Doug Tinkham, Remond Lehoux, and Tobias Roth.

Many thanks also to the many bidding Earth Sciences students, faculty and the broader geological community in the Willet Green Miller Centre.
