Christopher Beckett-Brown is a current PhD candidate with the Harquail School of Earth Sciences conducting research on Tourmaline, a common accessory mineral in a wide-rang of geologic environments and found in many ore deposits. His project is focused on understanding tourmaline from porphyry deposits.
By defining unique physical and chemical characteristics of tourmaline from porphyry deposits and distinguishing them from other occurrences, this can aid in the exploration for new deposits.
