Starting on Apr 3, 2017, Rémy Poulin (M.Sc.) has been hired to be the new electron microprobe operator at the Harquail School of Earth Sciences. The one-year contract was made possible by Dr. Andrew McDonald receiving an NOHFC grant for an internship.
Rémy Poulin, who is a Laurentian University alumnus and who graduated with an M.Sc. in Geology in May 2016, will be operating the Cameca SX-50 and the cathodoluminescence microscope setup. In this capacity, he will be aiding researchers in mineral and chemical data collection, and develop new standards material for the instrumentation.
