The Harquail School of Earth Sciences at Laurentian University is pleased to announce the establishment of PhD scholarships funded through a generous endowment from the Harquail Family Midas Touch Foundation.
All new doctoral students applying to the Harquail School of Earth Sciences for admission in the spring or fall of 2019 are eligible to apply for the scholarship. In addition to the normal admission application, students interested in being considered for a Harquail PhD Scholarship should provide a cover letter explaining their interest, a full curriculum vitae, and should ask their three referees to specifically comment on their merit for the award. Only complete applications received by February 15, 2019, including all letters of reference, will be considered.
Applications should be submitted to email@example.com. Decisions will be announced by March 1st, 2019.
The Harquail PhD Scholarships are valued at $30,000 per year (for 4 years) for Canadian and Permanent Resident students, and $40,000 per year (for 4 years) for full fee-paying international students.*
It is anticipated that two scholarships will be awarded in 2019, and one new scholarship annually in subsequent years.
* The higher value of the international scholarships is intended to offset the additional cost of international tuition fees. International students who receive tuition fee waivers will receive the Canadian equivalent scholarship.
