MSc Geology StudentThe timing and type of metamorphism of the Wabigoon Subprovince near Geraldton, Ontario
Originally from Airdrie, Alberta, I received my bachelor of science with distinction in geology at the University of Calgary. During my undergrad I focused mainly on hard rock petrology and ore deposits, and I developed a profound interest in metamorphic rocks, mineralogy, and lab work. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to work for the geo- and thermochronology lab at the University of Calgary as a mineral separation technician and research assistant during and after my undergrad.
My project with Metal Earth starting in the Fall 2019 will be looking at the metamorphic history of the Wabigoon Subprovince near Geraldton, Ontario. We will be looking into the various types of contact and regional metamorphic events, see how these events vary across the subprovince, we will date these events using titanite and monazite dating methods, and we will be relating these metamorphic events to the various structures present within the Wabigoon Subprovince.
