Ruth Orlóci-Goodison
MSc Geology StudentCharacterization of the structural controls on emplacement and geometry of the Upper Beaver Au-Cu-(Mo) deposit near Larder Lake, ON
Ruth completed an HBSc Geology at Lakehead University in 2019. Following the completion of her undergraduate, Ruth worked for a Toronto-based junior explorer on a variety of Canadian gold projects before pursuing her MSc at Laurentian. She is primarily interested in structural geology and its application to exploration for ore deposits. She plans to work on unusual, atypical, and poorly classified deposits, with an aim to increase exploration for and development of such deposits both in Canada and globally.
The scope of Ruth's MSc project is to characterize the structural controls on emplacement and geometry of the Upper Beaver Au-Cu-(Mo) deposit near Larder Lake, ON. Combining field mapping with subsurface data from oriented drilling, the project aims to contextualize Upper Beaver within the regional tectonic framework. Additionally, we aim to determine the controls on deposit emplacement, and to understand the impact of structural modification on ore zone geometry and grade.
