Samuel Edem Kodzo Tetteh
MSc Geology, Thesis-basedControls on volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits in the Kamiskotia Volcanic Complex, Ontario | stetteh@laurentian.ca
I obtained my BSc in Geological Engineering in October 2021 at the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, Ghana with an honours thesis focused on finding pathfinder elements of gold in residual laterite samples in northwestern Ghana using multivariate statistical analyses. I commenced my master's in Earth Science at the University of Manitoba in Winter 2023. My research interest is in mineral exploration, particularly in mineral potential modelling with data- and knowledge-driven tools.
My current research project aims to utilize a large geochemical dataset from previous and current drill core data with other geoscience data to outline the controls on VMS mineralization in the Kamiskotia area. The main objective is to create mineral potential maps that will aid in highlighting areas that may be prospective for VMS. Additionally, the project will constrain ore assemblage (microscopy), chemical composition (lithogeochemistry), and potentially geochronology on a selected target (i.e., Genex deposit) to contribute to age, lithology, tectonic setting and mineralogy of the Kamiskotia Volcanic Complex.
