BSc and BSc Honours in Earth Science (Geology)
This program is designed for students with strong backgrounds and interests in the physical sciences, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, whose careers as geologists in the long term will be based in mineral exploration, the mining industries, governmental agencies, or the petroleum industry.
BSc Earth Science Program
BSc in Environmental Geoscience
This field-based program is designed for students who are interested in environmental aspects of the geosciences. It integrates such disciplines as Geology, Biology, Geography, and Chemistry and prepares students for a long-term career within the environment (mining and the environment and environmental geochemistry).

BSc in Earth Science - Coop in Geological Exploration Option
The Coop Option in Geological Exploration is a limited-enrollment program with admission based on academic records and individual interviews through which such factors as motivation, interpersonal, and communication skills are evaluated. Entrance occurs at the end of the winter term in second year of the 4-year BSc Earth Science program. Students should indicate their interest in the program to the Director of the Harquail School by the end of the first term in the student’s second year. Students entering the Coop Option within the 4-year BSc Earth Sciences program must have a similar suite of courses to those in the listed program with a minimum grade point average of 70%, or be prepared to undertake additional courses on recommendation of the Undergraduate Advisor or Coop Coordinator.
